Coaching for the RDA

As well as coaching with the RDA (Riding for the Disabled), I have also run training sessions for this community and provided consultancy and lesson plans for coaches that link with a school based curriculum whilst still covering key ridden equitation skills.

I am happy to work with any local group and can provide online training for groups that are further a field. Training packages covers a range of information about specific learning needs or adults and children and how to adapt riding lessons to suit all learners, no matter their barriers! My training also links to the holistic view of the horse and how we can provide the best environment for both horse and rider by covering information on correct tack fit, to understanding the behaviour of equines.

Summer Camps and Holiday Schools for Charities

Since August 2021, Marie-Claire (see above) and I have been running tuition in the holidays and an annual summer camp for the Charity 21 & Co (supporting local families who have children with Down Syndrome).

From September 2023, we are excited to offer this as an educational package for other charities around the country. We will do this by providing a package of information, training and consultancy that helps you create your own camp. Both Marie-Claire and I will support you to create, develop and implement your own holiday tuition packages so that we can all continue to close the education gap between mainstream learners and those with additional needs across the country.

We have been running our own successful camps at Heyswood Guild Guides in Cobham, for the last three years and have developed these into half term days, teaching from other sites. We have created differentiated groups with various ages, abilities and targeted focus. These weeks and days have been extremely successful and always have a large waiting list. We employ specialised staff and also take on students wanting some work expereince, to further provide education about how we can adapt to an inclusive environment supporting those with special educational needs.
